New Delhi, Mar 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the successful candidates of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025, praising their dedication, perseverance, and hard work.

In a post on X, PM Modi extended his best wishes to the successful candidates as they embark on their journey of serving the nation and fulfilling the aspirations of the people. He said: “Congratulations to all those who have successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination, 2025. Their dedication, perseverance and hard work have led to this significant milestone. Wishing them the very best as they embark on a journey of serving the nation and fulfilling the aspirations of the people.”

The Prime Minister also offered words of encouragement to candidates who did not achieve the desired result, reminding them that the examination is only one step in a larger journey with multiple opportunities to contribute to the nation. He added: “To those who may not have secured the desired outcome in the Civil Services Examination, I understand that such moments can be difficult. However, this is only one step in a larger journey. Many opportunities lie ahead, both in future examinations and in the many avenues through which you can contribute to our nation. My best wishes for the road ahead.”

The announcement comes after UPSC declared the final results for the Civil Services Examination 2025 on Friday. A total of 958 candidates have cleared the examination, with Anuj Agnihotri securing All India Rank 1, followed by Rajeshwari Suve M and Akansh Dhull at second and third ranks respectively.

Speaking to ANI, Anuj Agnihotri described his achievement as the culmination of a “gruelling journey.” He revealed that he began preparing during his internship in 2022, attempted the exam for the first time in 2023, and successfully cleared it on his third attempt. Previously selected as a DANICS officer, he is currently undergoing training and expressed his aspiration to start as an SDM while aiming for higher positions through continued dedication.

He said, “The journey to UPSC requires a lot of effort. It's a gruelling journey, but the final result is good, so everything feels good.”
