Bhubaneswar, March 12: A delegation of journalists from Odisha on Thursday met with Chief Secretary Anu Garg at Lokasabha Bhavan today to discuss the pressing issues and demands affecting the state's media community.

One of the key demands put forth by the journalists was the implementation of a pension scheme for their financial security. The discussions also included several other crucial matters, such as the reorganization of the State Accreditation Committee to ensure proper recognition of journalists, increased facilities in government advertisements, and the streamlining of the process for issuing identification cards to journalists.

Chief Secretary Garg assured the journalists that their concerns would be thoroughly reviewed, and the necessary measures would be taken to address them in a timely manner.

The delegation included prominent figures such as Pitabas Mishra, National President of the "AIYUWJ" association, Bhagabat Prasad Tripathy, State President, Hrushikesh Mohanty, President of the Bhubaneswar office, and Rabi Ray, Vice President. They presented a series of proposals and highlighted collective challenges regarding the welfare of journalists.

Also present at the meeting were Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Development Commission, Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Information and Public Relations, Anuj Kumar Das Pattnaik, Director of the Department, and senior officials, including Guraveer Singh, Director (Commercial).
