Boudh, June 25: A 20-year-old youth from Gandisar village in Boudh district has landed in legal trouble after posting a reel on Instagram showing him consuming wild boar meat. The video, which quickly drew the attention of authorities, led to the arrest of the individual by the Boudh Forest Department.
The accused, identified as Vikram Nayak, had filmed himself eating wild boar meat and uploaded the video to Instagram. Upon viewing the footage, forest officials acted swiftly and detained Nayak. He was taken to the Madhapur Range Office, where he underwent questioning.
During the investigation, forest officials apprehended another individual believed to be a poacher involved in the same incident. Authorities have stated that efforts are underway to identify and arrest others linked to the illegal hunting and consumption of protected wildlife.
Boudh Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Debapriya Kamp confirmed the development and warned of strict action against all those involved in such wildlife offenses.
Meanwhile, Vikram Nayak has since posted a video apologizing for his actions, admitting his mistake, and vowing never to repeat it.
