Keonjhar, Ap 10: A tense situation unfolded in Biragobindpur under Ghasipura police limits in Keonjhar district when a young man climbed a high-voltage electric tower on Friday, sparking panic among local residents.

After hours of careful persuasion, the youth was safely brought down by the police.

The individual has been identified as Lulu Nayak, a resident of Shagadapata. Witnesses reported that Nayak climbed the tower and remained there for an extended period, refusing to descend. His actions attracted a large, anxious crowd as the situation developed.

Upon receiving the alert, Ghasipura police promptly arrived and assessed the high-risk scenario. Opting for caution, officers engaged in prolonged counselling and persuasion to calm Nayak and convince him to come down safely.

After several tense hours, Nayak finally agreed to descend with police assistance. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, much to the relief of the gathered onlookers. The reasons behind his drastic actions remain unclear, and police are expected to question him further.
