Raipur (Chhattisgarh), February 7: A total of 51 Naxalites, who had a combined bounty of Rs 1.61 crore, surrendered to the police in two districts of the Bastar division on Saturday, according to a senior official.

This wave of surrenders comes as the March 31, 2026, deadline for eradicating Naxalism in the region draws closer, bringing the total number of surrenders in Chhattisgarh this year to approximately 300.

The event coincided with the inauguration of the Bastar Pandum 2026 festival in Jagdalpur, the headquarters of Bastar district, and the arrival of President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a three-day visit to Raipur.
