Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: At least four members of a family were killed in a tragic road accident on Sunday near Pandaren–Godaramunda village on the Turekela–Mahakhand road in Odisha. The deceased include a grandfather, grandmother, grandson and son-in-law.

According to sources, Kshira Putel, his wife Phulmati Putel, their grandson Debashish Putel, and son-in-law Mohan Putel of Dharakhman village were travelling on a motorcycle towards Turekela village under Bangomunda police station limits. Near Pandaren, their motorcycle was reportedly hit by an unidentified vehicle, which fled the scene after the collision.

The impact of the accident claimed the lives of the grandfather, grandson and son-in-law on the spot. Phulmati Putel, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to Kantabanji hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The incident has plunged the local area into mourning. The death of four members of a single family in one day has left residents shocked. Turekela police have registered a case and are continuing the investigation.
