Bhubaneswar, June 1: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday congratulated the dairy farmers on World Milk Day and said that the State Government has distributed Rs 326 crore financial assistance to more than 4 lakh dairy farmers in the State in last two years. He said that the Government has set a target to double its milk production by 2036.
The Chief Minister highlighted initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana and GOMATA Yojana for strengthening the dairy sector and empowering livestock farmers across Odisha.
“On World Milk Day, I congratulate our dairy farmers for their invaluable contribution to nutrition, livelihoods and rural prosperity. Through initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana and GOMATA Yojana, our Government is committed to strengthening the dairy sector and empowering livestock farmers across Odisha. Let us continue working towards a healthier and more prosperous Odisha,” Majhi posted on ‘X’.
"In a developed India, the goal is to ensure more than double milk production in the state by 2036 for a developed Odisha. To achieve this goal, the state government is implementing the Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana. Along with this, in the last two years, financial assistance of Rs 326 crore has been provided to more than 4 lakh dairy farmers,” wrote the CM.
The CM also outlined State’s long-term vision of a prosperous, Viksit Odisha by 2036.
Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana provides a stronger foundation for rural development and boosting local milk production.
