Bhubaneswar, Mar 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday and proceeded to Mundali in Cuttack to attend the 57th Raising Day celebrations of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). During the event, he asserted that the country would be free from Naxalism by March 31.

Shah was received at Bhubaneswar airport by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, State BJP president Manmohan Samal, and other leaders. He then proceeded to Mundali to participate in the official programme marking the foundation day of the force.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Home Minister lauded the CISF personnel for safeguarding key installations and supporting India’s industrial growth. He highlighted the force’s blend of tradition and modernisation, saying, “Bravery, sacrifice and self-denial are hallmarks of India’s glorious history. By combining these qualities with dedication and modern weaponry, CISF has demonstrated the courage to face all kinds of challenges. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all personnel of the force.”

Shah added that the CISF would play a crucial role in realising the vision of a developed India by 2047 and in supporting the country’s industrial expansion. He also paid tribute to several freedom fighters and martyrs, including Shaheed Rajguru, Bakshi Jagabandhu, Veer Surendra Sai, and the youngest martyr, Baji Rout.
