Bhubaneswar, Feb 2: Works department has directed the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to hand over land soon to Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation Limited (OBCC) for the Ekamra project.
Works department principal secretary Vir Vikram Yadav on Thursday during his visit of the Ekamra project asked the BMC land acquisition officer to complete the encroachment eviction drive and private land acquisition process.
Besides, he asked to solve the issues raised for drain no 7 and transfer of endowment land. Yadav was accompanied by Khordha Collector Chanchal Rana.
The foundation stone for the Rs 280 crore Ekamra project was laid on June 28, 2023 in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The project is being implemented on 80 acres of land and targeted to be completed within 18 months. However, land acquisition has stood as a big obstacle before implementation of the project.
