Angul, January 8: In another case of corruption, a Revenue Inspector (RI) was caught by Odisha Vigilance on Thursday while receiving bribe.

The accused has been identified as Surendra Das, RI Tusar, under the Athmallik Tehsil in Angul district.

According to the Vigilance, the RI had demanded Rs 8000 from a ROR holder for demarcation of a land. The applicant had paid Rs 2000 as advance while he was paying the rest amount to the RI today.Meanwhile, a team of Vigilance nabbed the RI red-handed with the bribe.

The accused was detained and the bribe amout was seized. Further investigation is underway to rule out recovery of disproportionate assets, said the Vigilance.
