Dambulla (Sri Lanka), July 23: Pakistan outplayed United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a 10-wicket victory in their last Group A match on Tuesday, to inch closer to the semifiinals of the Women's Asia Cup 2024.
Winning the toss, Pakistan asked UAE to bat first and limited them to 103/8 in the allotted 20 overs. UAE keeper Theertha Satish, who opened the batting, was the top scorer with 40 runs in 36 balls. But she was the lone star for the minnows.
Chasing a modest target of 104, Pakistan openers Gull Feroza (62* in 55 balls) and keeper Muneeba Ali (37* in 30 balls)) shared a match winning 107 runs partnership in just 14.1 overs.
However, neither side could hit a six in the match. Pakistan opener Gull Feroza was adjudged the Player of the Match.
