Telangana, Aug 7: A woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her lover and another associate by pouring herbicide into his ear, police in Karimnagar town said on Wednesday. The chilling incident occurred on July 29 and was uncovered during an investigation into a missing person case. The three accused have been arrested.
According to Karimnagar Police Commissioner Ghoush Alam, the woman, aged 38, had been having an extramarital affair with 50-year-old Karre Rajaiah. The victim, identified as Sampath, was reportedly an alcoholic.
"The woman, along with Rajaiah and their third accomplice, Keesari Srinivas (35), conspired to kill her husband," the Commissioner explained.
On the night of the crime, the trio lured Sampath to the outskirts of the town under the pretense of attending a gathering. After getting him intoxicated with alcohol, they poured herbicide into his ear while he was unconscious, leading to his death.
Initially, the woman reported her husband as missing, but inconsistencies in her statements prompted police to further investigate. Eventually, the police arrested all three suspects, who have been remanded into judicial custody. Authorities continue their inquiry into the case.
Ghoush Alam confirmed that the murder was premeditated and fueled by illicit motives.
