Jaleswar, July 12: In a tragic accident, a woman was killed, and a youth sustained grievous injuries after being hit by a private bus near Thana Chhak under Bhograi block of Balasore district on Friday.
The identity of the deceased woman has yet to be ascertained.
Sources said the duo was en route to Chandaneswar when a speeding passenger bus coming from the opposite direction hit them. The impact resulted in the woman's death and left the youth seriously injured.
Upon being informed, locals immediately rushed the victims to Jaleswar Community Health Center (CHC).
The police have started an investigation into the incident.
