Woman killed, eight injured in group clash over land dispute in Kendrapara

Kendrapara, June 27: A woman was killed and eight others sustained injuries in a violent clash between two groups afternoon over a long-standing land dispute at Sangrampur village under Rajkanika police limits in the district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sushil Nayak (52). She hit on her head with a wooden plank and died on the spo.
The injured were immediately rushed to Kendrapara district headquarters hospital and two of them were later shifted to SCB Medical College and hospital in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.
A case has been registered case under sections 302, 448, 294, 323, 506, 307 and 34 of IPC and three persons have been detained for questioning, said Rajkanika IIC, Dilip Dhal.
The investigation is on and the accused will be arrested soon. Some others involved in the crime have fled the spot after the murder. Raids are on to nab them, the IIC added.
