​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: In a disturbing incident, a young woman was injured after jumping from a moving auto-rickshaw reportedly in a desperate attempt to escape a kidnapping attempt.

As per reports, the incident took place late last night when the victim was travelling in an auto-rickshaw from Acharya Vihar to Nayapalli. Besides the driver, there was another woman in the auto, who is believed to be part of the kidnapping attempt. She allegedly tried to sedate and overpower the victim.

However, the young woman attempted to fight back and, in a bid to escape, jumped from the moving auto-rickshaw near Jayadev Vihar, sustaining significant injuries.

Local residents quickly came to her aid and rushed her to a nearby private hospital.

Meanwhile, the victim's family filed a complaint with the Nayapalli police. Following the complaint, authorities have registered a case, launched an investigation, and begun a manhunt to track down the perpetrators.
