Bhubaneswar, October 17: BJD president and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced a list of 40-star campaigners for the upcoming Nuapada Assembly by-election, scheduled for November 11.

Apart from Patnaik, the list includes senior leaders Prasanna Acharya, Debi Prasad Mishra, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Niranjan Pujari, Arun Kumar Sahoo, Pratap Deb, and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Puspendra Singh Deo, Rohit Pujari and Saroj Kumar Meher among others, reflecting a balanced mix of organisational veterans and regional heavyweights thereby underscoring the party’s high-stakes focus on retaining the western Odisha seat.

The list also featured prominent women leaders like Tukuni Sahu, Sulata Deo, Lekhashree Samantsinghar, Subasini Jena, Barsa Singh Bariha, and Deepali Das.

The inclusion of senior leaders, influential western Odisha figures and prominent women leaders indicates a targeted strategy to consolidate the party's base in the region ahead of polling.
