Sambalpur, Jan 24: A woman devotee has prayed Goddess Samaleswari to get her married with boyfriend in a letter.
The letter was recovered from the donation box (Hundi) of the temple in Sambalpur during opening of it on Monday night.
The devotee has written the letter in red ink praying the Goddess to fulfil her wish to get married with her boyfriend Kanha.
The devotee in her letters has expressed that she has faith on Goddess Samaleswari and urged to shower bless on her to unite the duo for lifelong.
Notably, this is not new. In fact, the temple trust finds such letters every time during opening of the hundi. Goddess Samaleswari is considered the divine mother among devotees in western Odisha and the devotees express their joys and sorrows before the goddess. Many devotees also chose to express themselves in letters by depositing letters in the temple’s donation box, addressed to the deity. Many letters are found written to the Goddess praying for a good health, sometimes about the children and marriage problems as well.
