Baripada, Aug 24: In a gruesome incident, a woman was brutally murdered and beheaded by a miscreant in Tiring locality of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district last night.
The deceased woman has been identified as Suhagi Baipae and the incident has been reported from Deogan village under Tiring police limits.
As per reports, Suhagi's husband had gone to watch a football match in the village and she was alone at home. It is suspected that, the accused took advantage of the situation and hacked the woman to death and later beheaded her. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the scene.
When the woman’s husband arrived at the home, he found Suhagi’s body lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the woman’s body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
The deceased woman’s husband filed a complaint with the police in this regard. The exact reason behind the gruesome murder is yet to be ascertained.
Police and a scientific team have reached the spot and started further investigation.
