New Delhi, January 9: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the importance of transforming schools into vibrant, community-based institutions to achieve meaningful educational reforms. Speaking at a consultation meeting under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, Pradhan highlighted that after five years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, India is moving toward a new Samagra Shiksha framework for 2026-27, aligning with the vision of a developed India.
Pradhan outlined the need for an education system that meets the aspirations of a developed nation and emphasized the valuable experiences and best practices that states have developed in utilizing education for building a just society. He called for transformative reforms in areas such as learning outcomes, nutrition, reducing exam pressures, simplifying learning processes, ensuring 100% enrollment up to Class XII, and promoting holistic school development.
“To achieve these goals, schools must be reintegrated into society,” Pradhan concluded.
