Will Ma Dong-seok opposite Prabhas In Vanga Reddy's 'Spirit' recreate 'Bahubali' Magic in South Korea Box Office?

Bhubaneswar: The cinema grapevine has a blast for the high-spirited Prabhas fans. The gossip is in pan-Indian star Prabhas’ upcoming high octane flick ‘Spirit’, the movie makers have offered the role of main antagonist (villain) to South Korean actor Ma Dong Seok. If the grapevine turns a sure shot then this will mark Seok’s maiden bollywood debut.

‘Animal’ and ‘Kabir’ fame Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s next directorial flick ‘Spirit’ will go on floors by Decemeber or early next year (2025). The pan Indian star Prabhas, after Kalki 2898 AD's sci-fi success, is featuring in ‘Spirit’ as the lead actor. Prabhas will don the hat of a honest cop in the upcoming ‘Spirit’.

Earlier, the gossip swirled that Prabhas, like Ranbir, will don both the hats of protagonist and antagonist in the film 'Spirit'. The gossip also has been that Prabhas’s lady love in the flick will be south India super star actress and Ponniyin Selvan fame Trisha Krishnan.

Who Is Ma Dong-seok?

Ma Dong-seok is a South Korean-American actor. He is known for his best supporting roles in The Neighbor, Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time, and the Unjust. He was the lead actor in Murderer and One on One. Ma Dong gained international fame with the role Sang-hwa in Train to Busan (2016). His other memorable films are ‘Derailed’, “The Outlaws’,  ‘The Bad Guy: Reign of Chaos,  and ‘MCU Eternals’.

His real name is Don Lee, and was the personal trainer of mixed martial artists Mark Coleman and Kevin Randlema, before acting in movies. 

Prabhas’ Bahubali Franchises Hit in South Korea

Bahubali –The Beginning, released in 2016 in South Korean, had collected $18, 963 in South Korea Box office. South Korean movie goers were effusive in praising Prabhas' stellar performance in the theatrical epic drama, reports a South Korean Box office trade guide paper. 

The BOTTOMLINE is Sandeep Vanga Reddy is roping in popular South Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, opposite Prabhas, to recreate the magic of Bahubali Franchises in South Korea and rake the moolah in South Korean Box Office.
