Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday approved a proposal to frame the Odisha Employees’ State Insurance Scheme Nursing Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2025, marking a significant step towards establishing a structured regulatory framework for nursing personnel under the ESI scheme in the State.

The newly framed cadre rules are intended to regulate the recruitment process, promotions, and service conditions of nursing staff appointed under the Odisha Employees’ State Insurance Scheme Nursing Service.

The rules will be applicable to nursing personnel working in Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) hospitals and dispensaries across Odisha. The initiative is expected to bring greater clarity, uniformity, and transparency in service conditions, while strengthening human resource management within the ESI healthcare system.

The move would help standardise the service structure of nursing staff, enhance administrative efficiency, and contribute to improved healthcare delivery under the ESI framework.
