Balasore, March 16: In an unusual incident, a complaint has been filed alleging that hundreds of country chickens died due to loud DJ music during a wedding procession at Digibhanra village under Soro Police Station in Balasore district.

According to reports, Manoranjan Behera of Dungam village had taken a poultry farm belonging to Manas Barik of Digibhanra village on a lease and was rearing country chickens there.

On the night of March 11, a wedding procession passed through the village with a DJ system playing music at a very high volume. The loud sound allegedly caused the death of 352 country chickens in the poultry farm.

Behera initially raised the issue with the DJ owner, but after failing to get any response, he lodged a complaint at the Soro police station. Acting on the complaint, police have started an investigation into the matter.

In his complaint, Behera stated that the estimated loss due to the death of the chickens is around ₹1.40 lakh.
