Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: Wheat will be included in Odisha Public Distribution System (PDS) once again. Beneficiaries and ration card holders will be suplied rice and wheat both.It was informed by Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Saturday.
Patra while responding to media persons on fulfilling the demand of ration card holders, said that there is a growing demand for wheat in Odisha. However, provision of wheat to the ration card holders was halted by the previous government.Now the Odisha government has urged the Centre to provide wheat to the state.
Accordingly, the state has placed a demand before the Center to provide wheat against 20 percent of the provision of rice, Patra added.
