Bhubaneswar, Mar 31: Several parts of Odisha are likely get a respite from the scorching heat due to a cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and neighbouring regions.
Under the influence of the weather system, cloudy conditions prevailed in various areas across the state including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack this morning.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall are expected in parts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khordha, and Puri within the next three hours.
Earlier yesterday, five locations in the state experienced severe heat waves, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius. Malkangiri district recorded the highest temperature at 41 degrees Celsius.
