Tehri, Nov 25: At least five people were killed and several others injured when a bus plunged nearly 70 meters into a gorge near the Kunjapuri-Hindolakhal area in Tehri district on Monday.

According to Sandeep Kumar, PRO at AIIMS Rishikesh, multiple victims of the Tehri bus accident were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, five passengers were declared dead upon arrival. Kumar confirmed that some victims suffered internal injuries, while others had head wounds.

Among the injured, two individuals named Deepsikha and Dikha, both from Punjab, were admitted to the hospital.

Earlier, Shyaam Vijay, the Chief Medical Officer, stated that the bus was carrying 18 passengers at the time of the accident. He confirmed that five people had died, while 13 others were injured. Of the injured, three were referred to AIIMS Rishikesh, and 10 were sent to Narendra Nagar Hospital for further treatment.

Suresh Patel, a survivor from Gujarat, shared details of the incident. He said that several injured passengers were taken to AIIMS Rishikesh for urgent medical care. He also mentioned that all the passengers on the bus were from Gujarat.

“Five people have died in the accident, and their bodies are being kept at AIIMS Rishikesh. All the passengers are from Gujarat,” Patel said
