Wayanad landslide survivor returns abode, celebration in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda, Aug 29: The Beheramal village in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Thursday witnessed an unprecedented celebration as Dr Swikruti Mohapatra, an Odia doctor who survived the devastating landslide at Wayanad in Kerala, returned to her cradle land after almost a month in the hospital ward.
Dr. Mohapatra was accompanied by her sister as she arrived home after receiving treatment at Dr. Mopen’s Medical College in Wayanad today.
Swikruti’s family members were rejoiced to get their ward back from the wrath of danger,who had a close shave from the disaster.
Worth mentioning, Dr Mohapatra had attended a conference in Bengaluru on July 26 before travelling to Wayanad with three friends. The landslide on July 29 left hundreds missing including Mohapatra. Thank god, she was rescued in a critical condition and was hospitalised.
While Dr Mohapatra survived, her friend Dr Bishnu Prasad Chinara tragically lost his life in the disaster, being washed away by the debris.
