Bhubaneswar, July 31: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday expressed grief over the death of Odia doctor Bishnu Prasad Chinara in the massive landslide occurred in Kerala’s Wayanad district on Tuesday.
Majhi said two Odia doctors went missing after the landslide mishap while the body of Dr. Chinara, of Choudwar Housing Board colony in Cuttack, has been recovered.
The other doctor, identified as Dr. Swadhin Panda, is still untraced in the mishap.
The Chief Minister said the state government has deputed a senior administrative official and a doctor to help the families of these two doctors.
Majhi said they will coordinate with the Kerala government officials to expedite the rescue and other necessary arrangements.
The Chief Minister also directed the State Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) to be in touch with his counterparts in Kerala and monitor the situation.
The two doctors from Odisha had gone to Kerala along with their spouses on a vacation and were staying in a hotel when the landslide occurred. Both doctors went missing after the devastating landslide in Wayanad. Their wives were, however, rescued and are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
