Bhubaneswar, February 2: In anticipation of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Puri on February 3 and 4, 2026, robust security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and secure trip.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Central Range, Odisha, Dr. Satyajit Naik, conducted a final high-level review today of the security and traffic management plans for the visit. This review took place in Puri, where the President's visit is set to take place.

Exemplifying strong leadership and hands-on oversight, Dr. Naik personally inspected critical locations, including the Shree Jagannath Temple and designated routes for the VVIP motorcade. He was accompanied by Shri Prateek Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP), and other senior law enforcement officers.

A massive deployment of 30 police platoons has been arranged to provide a multi-layered security cover across the town. Security arrangements will be managed by six officers of the rank of SP, with the support of a structured team consisting of Additional SPs, DSPs, IICs, SIs, and ASIs, all working together with specialized units on high alert.

During the review, the IGP emphasized the need to ensure smooth VVIP movements while minimizing disruption for the thousands of devotees expected to visit Puri during this period. Additionally, traffic diversion plans and temporary public entry restrictions at the Shree Jagannath Temple have been finalized to maintain public safety and ease of access.

The Puri District Police has urged the public to cooperate with the security and traffic arrangements and follow the advisories issued to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the President's visit.Bottom of Form
