Bhubaneswar, Dec 2: 5T Chairman VK Pandian on Saturday conducted an extensive review to address long-standing land issues affecting various regions across the state. The review focused on expeditiously resolving land-related problems that have persisted for decades, impacting the lives of numerous citizens.

Land issues that have plagued the inhabitants of Jharsuguda Hirakud for over 50 years are set to find a prompt resolution. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the fisrt phase will distribute pattas to around 900 families in seven villages, namely Leimetikra, Patrapalli, Chhadramahala, Duamunda, Lachhipalli, Sahasbag, and Binaka.

Besides, Patnaik will allocate pattas to resolve land issues pertaining to 22 villages in Sorada in Ganjam. The distribution is scheduled to commence on December 14.

Pandian also directed the Revenue Department to swiftly implement the guidelines outlined in the Odisha Government Land Settlement (OGLS) Rules for Khasmahal land disputes in Puri district. This move is aimed at regularizing the distribution of 504 acres of land to various entities by the Puri Municipality.
