Rairangpur, Mar 24: A violent clash erupted in Jaritandi village following a cricket match, leaving one youth critically injured. The incident has sparked growing concerns about the increasing chaos in the region.

According to sources, the match was played between teams from Jaritandi and the nearby Saptapoutia village. After Saptapoutia's team suffered a loss, an argument broke out, which was initially settled through discussion. However, tensions reignited when, shortly afterward, around 50 youths from Saptapoutia reach in seven vehicles, armed with sharp weapons like iron rods and machetes. They launched a brutal attack on the residents of Jaritandi.

During the assault, Sheikh Akhtar, a villager from Jaritandi, sustained severe head injuries, resulting in significant blood loss. He was initially treated at Rairangpur Hospital but was later transferred to Baripada Medical College due to the critical nature of his injuries. Local police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The law and order situation in the Rairangpur area is worsening, with rising concerns over violence and a growing sense of public dissatisfaction. Authorities are under increasing pressure to take decisive action to curb the escalating conflict.
