Bhubaneswar, Jan 26: Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati presided over the state-level Republic Day celebrations today, unfurling the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar. The Governor took the salute of the Republic Day parade, marking the 77th Republic Day in the state.

A total of 54 contingents participated in the grand parade, representing a diverse range of forces, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), Home Guards, and Civil Defence. Students from various government and private schools and colleges also took part, adding a youthful vibrancy to the celebrations.

The parade was further enriched by 12 beautifully crafted tableaux, each presented by different government departments. These tableaux showcased the state's welfare schemes, developmental initiatives, and key achievements of the Odisha government, highlighting the progress the state has made in various sectors.

Adding a cultural touch, five folk dance and folk art groups from different districts performed during the parade. Their energetic performances highlighted Odisha's rich cultural heritage and traditional art forms, offering a vibrant spectacle to the gathered audience.

Senior state officials, public representatives, and a large number of citizens were present to witness the Republic Day festivities, which celebrated the nation’s progress and the state’s contributions to the country’s growth. The event was a fitting tribute to the ideals of the Indian Constitution and the spirit of unity and diversity that defines the nation.
