New Delhi, August 20: Ace wrestler Vinesh Phogat is likely to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections if sources close to her are believed.
Though Vinesh had earlier stated that she will not move into active politics, as per the latest report, some political parties are trying hard to "convince" her. However, which party the wrestler is going to join is yet to be confirmed.
This reports surface after Vinesh returned to her village from Paris Olympics where she missed the opportunity to win a gold medal in women's freestyle 50kg category being disqualified from the final for being 100gm overweight.
Vinesh received a rousing welcome in the national capital and her village Balali, Sonipat on Saturday. She was garlanded by Congress Member of Parliament, Deepender Hooda and other members of his family at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
