Viksit Odisha 2036: IFC Team meets Chief Secretary, discusses private investments in major infra projects

Viksit Odisha 2036: IFC Team meets Chief Secretary, discusses private investments in major infra projects

Bhubaneswar, March 6: In order to augment private investments in major infrastructure projects in the State as envisaged under Viksit Odisha 2036, a six-member team from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) embarked on a two visit to Odisha on February 26 and 27.

The Vision-2036 blueprint, part of the broader ‘Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat’ agenda, sets ambitious targets to rapidly urbanise, double employment, and attract massive investments to the State.

The IFC team, comprising senior Public Private Partnership (PPP) specialists and advisors, participated in a meeting held under the chairpersonship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg held on February 26 at the Lok Seva Bhavan.

Secretaries of key infrastructure Departments along with officials from PPP Cell, Finance Department attended the meeting and discussed about sectoral interventions to build a robust State PPP Project Pipeline.

The Chief Secretary emphasised on how “Vision 2036” is crucial to the multifaceted recognition of Odisha at the National and Global level.

She also discussed about the immediate need for identifying bankable projects in priority sectors like Renewable Energy, transmission, Logistics and transport, urban infrastructure as well as e-mobility.

With specific outcome targets set for 2036 (the centenary of the State's formation) and 2047 (100th year of India's independence), the State Governemnt has prepared the “Vision 2036” document with inputs from over 3.2 lakh citizens, including youth, farmers, industry leaders, civil society, and the Odia diaspora.
