Vigilance unearths properties worth Rs 3.01 crore of TPWODL General Manager

Bhubaneswar, Mar 11: Vigilance sleuths have traced properties worth Rs 3.01 crore of Santosh Kumar Darjee, General Manager of Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), Burla. Vigilance sleuths on Friday have conducted raids at three locations including the office of Darjee on allegations of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income. Darjee was found in possession of assets worth Rs 3.01 crore including cash over Rs7.2 lakh, bank & insurance deposits worth Rs 1.22 crore, two duplex buildings, two plots and 2 four wheelers. Vigilance sleuths said that the search process is still continuing. “The simultaneous searches were conducted on the basis of a court warrant and further investigation in the case is continuing. We are ascertaining the actual income of the official,” said a vigilance official. He also said that the income of the official would be calculated to ascertain the gap between the cost of assets and actual income.
