Malkangiri, Sept 27: The Odisha Vigilance Department on Sunday conducted simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Shishir Kumar Dash, Assistant Executive Engineer of Mathili Block in Malkangiri district, in connection with allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The raids were carried out in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Ganjam and Malkangiri. During the searches, officials reportedly traced a four-storey building at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar and a two-storey building at Nilachal Nagar in Berhampur.
Searches were also underway at Dash’s ancestral house at Gajapati Nagar in Berhampur and another property at Basudevpur in Ganjam. In Malkangiri, Vigilance teams searched his rented residence as well as his office chamber.

The searches were conducted under warrants issued by the Vigilance Special Court in Berhampur. A team comprising one Additional SP, five DSPs and five inspectors took part in the operation.
During the searches, Vigilance officials seized several documents and other materials considered relevant to the investigation. Officials said the exact extent of Dash’s assets and their correlation with his known sources of income would be determined after the searches are completed.
The Vigilance Department is continuing its investigation into the alleged disproportionate assets.
