Keonjhar, July 20: Odisha Vigilance sleuths today launched simultaneous raids at seven different locations linked to Nityananda Nayak, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the Kendu Leaf Division in Keonjhar in connection with allegations of possession of disproportionate assets.
Acting on search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Keonjhar Vigilance, the operation is being spearheaded by three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSsP), 10 Inspectors, and other supporting staff. The coordinated raids span across Angul, Keonjhar, and Nayagarh districts.
The locations under search include:
A four-storeyed building owned by Nayak in Angul.
His paternal house at Madanmohan Patna village, under Bantala Police Station, Angul district.
His in-laws' residence at Jagannathpur in Angul.
His office at the DFO, Kendu Leaf Division, Keonjhar.
His government residential quarter in Keonjhar.
The residence of his son located at Komanda in Nayagarh district.
His son's office chamber at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), New-Komanda, Nayagarh.
Sources within Vigilance indicated that the searches are being carried out to unearth documents, valuables, and any other evidence related to the suspected accumulation of wealth beyond known sources of income.
