Bhubaneswar, Jul 25: As part of its continued action against corrupt government officials in the state, the Odisha Vigilance on Friday unearthed huge movable and immovable assets amassed by a ‘crorepati babu’ and his family members.
The vigilance officials on Friday carried out simultaneous raids at the properties linked to the accused official identified as Rama Chandra Nayak, Deputy Ranger-cum-Incharge Ranger of Jeypore Forest Range in Koraput district following the allegation of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Nayak is currently posted as a Deputy Ranger-cum-Incharge Ranger of Jeypore Forest Range.
In ongoing DA searches against Nepak, Deputy Ranger Rs.1.4 Crores (approx) concealed in a secret Treasury in his Flat No 510, Golden Height Residential Apartment, Jeypore Town has been unearthed. Total cash recovery comes to approx 1.44 Crores. Counting machines have been deployed and counting being taken up.
Further, 4 numbers of gold biscuits and 16 gold coins also unearthed. Weighment of gold is going on.
Further investigation is underway.
