Bhubaneswar, Aug 6: Odisha vigilance on Sunday arrested Prasant Kumar Mohanty, S.I of Police of Ambaguda Outpost under Jeypore Sadar police station in Koraput district while demanding and receiving bribe from a complainant.
Acting on a tip-off, vigilance conducted a raid and caught Mohanty red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to help him in a case registered earlier in which Mohanty, was the investigating officer.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Mohanty and seized. A case in this connection has been registered with the Koraput vigilance. Investigation is in progress against accused cop.
