Bhubaneswar, Dec 2: It was advantage Vidarbha against Odisha at Stumps on Day-2 of the Under 16 Boys Vijay Merchant Trophy (Multi-Day Format) being played at Amingaon Cricket Ground, Guwahati on Saturday.
After bundling out Odisha for a paltry 224/10 in 82.2 overs, Vidarbha were comfortably placed after putting 352/3 on the board at end of play on Day-2.
Vidarbha's Sarvesh Ikhankar (105 in 170 balls) and Yash Chaude's (99 in 237 balls), batted with controlled aggression and lot of maturity to take the game away from Odisha bowlers.
For Odisha, Swagat Sourav Mishra (80 in 137 balls) and Mayank Pattanayak (47 in 69 deliveries) could put up some fight with the bat in their first innings on Day-1.
Anshul Sarda (5/49) and Jayesh Jagdish Kumbhre (3/44) were the two most successful bowlers for Vidarbha, who never allowed Odisha batters to play with freedom for long.
Of the three first innings wickets that Vidarbha lost, Odisha's Jogeswar Bag (2/76) and Rehan Khan (1/30) got some success. Otherwise, it was a long day of leather hunt for Odisha U16 Boys at Amingaon Cricket Ground in Guwahati.
