Gorakhpur, Jan 27: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took time to listen to public grievances during the 'Janta Darshan' in Gorakhpur. The Chief Minister interacted with the residents, addressing their concerns and instructing officials to resolve issues on a priority basis, reaffirming his commitment to serving the people of the state.

Earlier, on Monday, CM Yogi also interacted with artists during a felicitation ceremony organized to mark Republic Day 2026. Addressing the participants of the Republic Day parade, he expressed his gratitude to the artists, including those from Tripura and other states, who made the journey to Uttar Pradesh. "Tripura is a critical state, and you have come all the way from there to be a part of the Republic Day parade. I am thrilled that so many artists have come to Uttar Pradesh. I heartily welcome all of you," CM Yogi said warmly, extending his greetings to the visiting artists.

In a solemn moment earlier, CM Yogi had paid tribute to the Tricolour after unfurling the National Flag at his residence in Lucknow. He highlighted the importance of the "Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat" initiative and the pivotal role the Constitution has played in shaping the nation we live in today.

On January 24, during the Uttar Pradesh Statehood Day celebrations, CM Yogi, alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah, emphasized the significance of the 'One District, One Product' (ODOP) initiative. The scheme, which aims to boost self-reliance and promote local craftsmanship, has been instrumental in strengthening the state’s economic fabric and advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The ODOP program highlights and encourages indigenous products and crafts that are unique to each district in Uttar Pradesh. This includes ancient treasures like the nutritious 'Kala Namak' rice, rare wheat-stalk crafts, exquisite chikan kari and zari-zardozi work, and the remarkable horn and bone art, which serves as an eco-friendly alternative to ivory. Many of these products have received GI (Geographical Indication) tags, certifying their authenticity and regional origin.

By modernizing and publicizing these unique, community-based traditions, the initiative has not only helped preserve them but also provided a significant boost to Uttar Pradesh’s traditional industries. CM Yogi's efforts have ensured that these products, which were once on the brink of fading away, are now experiencing a renaissance, both locally and internationally.
