Puri, May 12: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration to vaccinate the servitors of Sri Jagannath temple immediately. Approving the proposal of the temple administration, the Chief Minister’s Office has written a letter in this regard on Tuesday. According to it, more than 200 servitors have been infected with Covid-19 in the second wave. In order to contain Covid infection inside the temple and among the devotees, servitors must be vaccinated before the car festival. Notably, as many as 3400 servitors have been vaccinated so far. Similarly, more than 570 servitors have undergone RT-PCR testing. On the other hand, about 129 Covid positive servitors are under medical care of which 80 are under treatment at Nilachal Bhakta Niwas Covid care centre, while 49 patients are in home care.
