Dhenkanal, Aug 16: A tragic incident unfolded at the Satya Narayan Eco Resort in Sankarpur, Dhenkanal district, when a 23-year-old tourist from Uttarakhand was found dead in the swimming pool early Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Tejas Ahuja. His body was discovered by fire brigade personnel, who were called to the resort around 5 AM after reports of a body floating in the pool.
Tejas was part of a group of five tourists from Uttarakhand who checked into the resort on Friday. According to reports, the group had enjoyed dinner at the resort's restaurant before heading to their suites for the night. However, staff members were shocked the following morning to find Tejas's lifeless body floating in the boating pool, located behind their rooms.
While the exact cause of death remains unclear, sources suggest that the group had been drinking, which could have contributed to the unfortunate incident.
Upon receiving the distress call, the fire brigade team promptly arrived at the scene and recovered the body. It was then sent to Athagarh Hospital for further examination.
Local police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
