Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) who was in police custody managed to escape today from the court campus in Bhubaneswar.
Sources said, UTP was previously lodged in Bhubaneswar Special Jail at Jharpada locality for a theft case.
He was taken to the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court for the hearing of the case.
Airfield police arrested the accused and sent him to Jharpada jail. He was taken to court here today. He went to the washroom and escaped from the toilet.
The commissionerate police formed a special team to nab the accused.
