Bhubaneswar, Dec 17: The Odisha Congress is yet a talk of the town following the expulsion of heavy-weight Congress Leader Md. Moquim from the party and, the relating chaos over it. Meanwhile, the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Chief Bhakta Das stated that Moquim is on the BJP way.

Citing Md. Moquim’s letter to the national leaderships a sponsored one, Das said the draft of the content is nothing but the language of BJP.

Raising serious allegations against Moquim as a Congress leader, Das implied that the role of state BJP remains apparent behind the letter that summed up lapses & pitfalls of the Odisha Congress at Delhi-level.

Das slammed Moquim after coming back to Odisha from New Delhi today, terming the ousted Ex-MLA Barabati-Cuttack, not a pure-Congress leader for his frequent anti-party activities and misleading statements on the media.

Earlier on Monday, the PCCC chief had questioned Moquim of his authorities in writing to Sonia Gandhi and pointing fingers towards Rahul Gandhi’s visionary leadership.

The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee showed the door open for Moquim reportedly for his frequent anti-Congress move, following his complaint before Sonia Gandhi.

Moquim was suspended from the party's primary membership on charges of indiscipline and anti-party activities after his letter to former Congress president Sonia Gandhi questioning the party's leadership and organisational functioning, which the top brass views as a serious breach of internal discipline.

“If Moquim genuinely had concerns, he could have raised them within the PAC. Instead, he chose to release a letter to the press clearly revealing his intent. A person facing corruption charges, whose election has been declared null and void by the Hon’ble Odisha High Court, lecturing others on morality is nothing short of laughable,” Das wrote on X.

“And what authority does he have to question Shri @RahulGandhi? Rahul Ji walked across the length and breadth of this country, igniting awareness and hope among the people. If that is not hard work, then what is?,” Das further shared on X.

Moquim's letter raised sharp concerns about the party's leadership and organisational functioning as he questioned the effectiveness of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, citing his age and alleging an inability to connect with the youth.

He claimed in his letter that despite being a Congress Ex- MLA, he had been unable to secure a meeting with Rahul Gandhi for the past three years.

He also blamed repeated electoral setbacks in Odisha on the leadership of current OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das and former president Sarat Pattanayak.

On the other hand, responding to Bhakta Das Moquim said that he has never raised any complaint against the OPCC. Rather, he has put forth some essential resolves before  the top leadership to strengthen the organisation for a robust Congress in Odisha.

Similarly, no leaders from the Odisha BJP have yet responded to the Bhakta’s allegation yet, on the party’s alleged inner equation behind Moquim’s purpose to bid adieu to Congress for good.
