Puri, Ap 1: On the special occasion of Utkal Divas today, Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a beautiful sand art in Puri.
Taking his official twitter ‘X’, Pattanaik sent the best wishes and heartiest congratulations to all odia and wrote, “Wishing everyone Happy #UtkalaDibasa #ଉତ୍କଳଦିବସ #BandeUtkalaJanani . My SandArt at Puri beach in Odisha.”
Notably, Odisha is celebrating 89 years of Utkal Divas today to commemorate the formation of the state of Odisha on April 1, 1936.
Odisha was declared a separate province on this day and was renamed as Odisha by the Parliament of India on November 9, 2010 and Oriya language as Odia. It's an occasion for every Odia to rejoice to celebrate this day with great enthusiasm.
It is the day to commemorate the great leaders of the state – Madhusudan Das, Gopabandhu Das, Maharaja Ramachandra Bhanjadeo, Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati, Fakir Mohan Senapati, Gangadhar Meher, Gourishankar Ray and Ramadevi – who fought all odds for statehood of Odisha
