Badamba, Jan 14: The Makar Mela at the Baba Singhanath Temple in Badamba has officially commenced, attracting a large gathering of devotees. The temple, located in the sacred area of Badamba, opened its gates at 3 am to allow the completion of various rituals, and general public access began after that.

As part of the preparations for the Mela, significant traffic restrictions have been imposed.

From today till January 17, vehicles will be completely banned from using the T-Bridge connecting the temple.

The road will remain closed from 7 am to 10 pm daily. Vehicles coming from Nayagarh and heading towards Badamba will be diverted via the Siddhamula Bridge.

Similarly, vehicles traveling from Badamba towards Bhubaneswar and Khordha will have to take the Jata Mundiya Bridge.

To ensure the safety of the public and prevent any untoward incidents, barricades have been set up, and a strong police presence of 12 platoons has been deployed.

Additionally, temporary mud roads and potential waterlogging in certain areas have prompted the deployment of rescue teams, including the Disaster Response Force (ODRAF) and NDRF, to ensure the safety of devotees.
