Jagatsinghpur, Feb 20: In a horrific incident, unidentified miscreants forcibly entered the home of Mania Biswal in Ogarpur village, located under Balikuda police jurisdiction in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district late on Monday night. They viciously attacked Mania, her son Silu, and daughter-in-law, resulting in fatal injuries to Mania while leaving Silu and his wife critically injured.

According to sources, tensions had escalated a few days prior when Silu married a woman against her family's wishes. Allegedly, in retaliation, the family of the bride hired individuals to intimidate Silu and his family.

The authorities have initiated an investigation into the heinous crime.
