Bhubaneswar: In a hot and humidity condition over 1800 runners took part in the 7th edition of the Nisum Bhubaneswar Marathon 2026, organized by Kalinga Runners Trust (KRT) in association with Nisum Consulting Pvt. Ltd., was successfully held on Sunday at the RTO Ground, Chandrasekharpur here, the runners participated in three different categories – 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km.

 

The marathon was flagged off by Paralympic Champion and Arjuna Awardee Pramod Bhagat, whose presence inspired participants to pursue excellence with resilience and determination. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of fitness, discipline, and inclusive sporting culture in building a healthier nation.

 

The award ceremony was graced by Vivekananda Sharma, SP, Khordha, and Preeti Rana, Deputy Chief Commercial Manager, East Coast Railway, who felicitated winners across categories and appreciated the efforts of Kalinga Runners Trust in promoting fitness and community engagement.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Swati Mohanty from Kalinga Runners Trust expressed pride in the growing participation each year and highlighted the organization’s mission to strengthen health awareness, build a vibrant running community, and integrate CSR initiatives through such platforms. She also acknowledged Nisum’s continued support and its strong advocacy for women empowerment and wellness initiatives.

 

The event witnessed participation from fitness enthusiasts, corporate teams, students, and senior citizens, reinforcing Bhubaneswar’s growing identity as a fitness-forward city. The seamless coordination by volunteers, partners, media, and supporters ensured the grand success of the marathon.
