Bhubaneswar, Feb 3: Two senior CPI (Maoist) leaders, Nikhil (Niranjan Raut) and Indu (Ankita, Rashmita Lenka), have sent an open letter to the Odisha government and Home Department offering to surrender under four conditions. The letter, verified by the media, states they will abandon armed struggle and work within India’s democratic framework if their demands are met.

Their conditions include permission to work legally for the rights of marginalized communities and natural resources, assurance of non-deployment in anti-Maoist operations, protection for surrendered cadres from long-term imprisonment, and action against the suppression of local movements, which they say indirectly fuels armed conflict.

The leaders also urged other Maoist cadres to surrender through constitutional means, marking a significant step in Odisha’s efforts to resolve Maoist conflicts peacefully.
