Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued new guidelines aimed at making all college and university campuses across the country drug-free. As part of the initiative, each campus will appoint an Anti-Drug Inspector to oversee awareness and prevention activities.
According to Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, the responsibility for implementing the program will be assigned to one male and one female faculty member from every institution.
A week-long campaign will also be organized across colleges and universities to promote discussions and awareness on the issue. The Minister added that the initiative will also emphasize yoga, students’ physical fitness, and nutritious food, encouraging a healthier and more disciplined campus environment.
